Often
we hear stories of a kindergartner or school student "kept back" because
he or she "is not ready" for the next grade. She has a "developmental
delay" or he is "too immature." If he or she is kept back "he'll catch
up," or so the saying goes. Perhaps, your child has been diagnosed with
a learning disability, but never seems to do as well as you know he
could. You feel your child could be in the top track, or honors program
but isn't. Why not? What's the problem? Sometimes, it is not a developmental
delay or immaturity. Often, it is in the way he or she learns. That's
right, maybe your child has a learning style than is different from
his peers. And if his learning style is different he may need a different
teaching approach. Many of these children are of average to above average
of intelligence but are not performing to their potential. Year after
year your child continues to struggle and never seems to catch up or
get ahead. Can you imagine the damage to your child's self-esteem ?
Often these children just give up. Trying harder … working harder …
is not the answer. That's where we come in. Let us share with you how
we can help build a solid learning foundation for your child.
